Duke Energy's Bright Future Initiative: Empowering Communities Towards a Sustainable Tomorrow

Duke Energy is committed to creating a sustainable future. Starting March 2024, $1 from every customer’s monthly bill will be donated to the Bright Future Initiative, promoting renewable energy education, tackling energy hardship, and supporting sustainability projects nationwide.

This donation is included in existing rates, allowing customers to contribute to energy equity and environmental improvements.

Paul Humphries, CEO of Duke Energy, said: "The Bright Future Initiative aligns with our mission of a cleaner energy future. It supports renewable energy education and provides financial assistance to those struggling with energy costs. Our growing customer base will enable us to help even more communities in need."

The initiative offers energy-saving grants, funds local sustainability projects, and helps families facing energy hardships.

Paul added, "We aim to fund community-driven projects that cut long-term energy costs, like upgrading school heating systems, installing solar panels, and hosting energy efficiency workshops."
